Dim Sum, TimeZone and KTV with Kai [30 August 2008]

Kai is just one of out of 2 homestays that will be living with Nancy quite permanently (til they finish university I guess) that I've met. Initially, Kai is this very, very quite person. I did not speak to him much due to the fact that he's so quiet and gentle like. I have had seen him few times on the same bus but never actually called out his name (couldn't remember at that time). A few Tuesdays ago, he remembered me and said "Hi" and I was quite taken aback since he didn't talk to me much when I dined -seldomly at Nancy's- and he actually spoke first. We started speaking in English and decided it was for the better that he actually spoke in Cantonese since it was better than in English and to be quite frank, I had to use the Smile and Nodd method for a bit since his voice was deep and soft and I couldn't understand some deeper Cantonese either. Either way, we seemed to have something in common and I asked him if wanted to go Yum Cha on the weekend and he was like "Er...have to check with my friends first". Anyways, we ended up going to Regal on Road for Yum Cha again.

I nearly killed Kai. How? I stuffed him to death! We ordered Siu Mai, Har Gun, Braised Chicken Feet, Pork Ribs, Roast Duck, Deep Fried Dumplings, Prawn Cheong Fun, Mango Pudding and endless refills of Chinese tea. Poor Kai. I think I frightened him.

After the brunch, we went to TimeZone, an arcade in Northbridge, and played a fair bit of games. At the arcade, we tried our skills with the photobooth. We FAILED. Miserably. It was not user-friendly and not to mention pricey too. So we went KTV. It's nice with 2 people, so you can enjoy some songs a little bit more. KTV for us was more like a stress-relief activity.

Case of an epic fail photobooth shot.

Yeah. So that's all to the Saturday!!!

Omar's Birthday

Met up with Takeshi and Bel to have a nice get together and they brought their poker chips and cards along with them. Texas Hold'em is a nice game to play once you've got the hang of it. This time I PWN!! Muahahhahah That is..until Takeshi won at the final game when everyone went all in. We played in a Malaysian Restaurant called Makan2 in Victoria Park.

Sup kambing!

Little Apple Dolls

I have been smitten by the charm of this doll ever since I saw one in a shop in Gold Coast. Mother wouldn't let me buy them cause they looked "evil"; yet I have always been fascinated by the dark side. These dolls each have their own story attached with them. Stories that are both sad and yet enchanting about lil girls finding their way to the Inbetween Places. These dolls were designed by Ufuoma Urie -- artist and creator of Little Apple Dolls. Hopefully I can collect all of these (with the exception of Solus) =(

Nintendo DS lite Guitar Hero Bundle

Saw this at JB Hi-fi's the other day. Told them to hold on to it for me and straight away went to the city and bought it. It's mine! It was cheaper at JB too, selling for $259AUD rather than $269AUD. I know it's only a $10AUD but with that $10AUD, I can go yum cha!

Muahahah it's now mine!

Limited Edition PSP Final Fantasy: Crisis Core Bundle and a Diamond Ring

I remembered looking at the PSP bundle in EB games and it was $319AUD. Too bad then I'd already bought the Yellow Simpsons PSP. It kept reoccuring in my mind. If people can collect items such as watches, why shouldn't I collect Limited Edition PSPs that I like?

I totally love the designs at the back and the grey translucent buttons!

The EB in the city had just sold their last Final Fantasy Bundle and the only EB store that still stocked it was out in Midlands. So we caught the train all the way out there just to buy the PSP. Zomfgwtfbbq stated that I looked like a puppy. Wait til I make you suffer! I shall not lend you Crisis Core! Hhahah kidding. Zomfgwtfbbq upfronted the PSPs payment (aww thanks! So trusting yeah? muahahhaha) cause I overdid my daily eftpos limit --> Diamond ring.

Coffee chat with zomfgwtfbbq

I gave a deposit two weeks ago for the ring and expected a full 4-6 weeks before it arrived. Apparently not. It only took 2 weeks! Custom made for me cause my finger is too small. No. It's not a silver ring with zirconia but a white gold with actual diamonds.

20th August -- MCI111 and Squidding

Finally some photos of the 2nd semester here at Curtin Internation College. This is MCI111 - Media, Communication and Information 111. One of the most boring classes ever, thankfully the professor isn't although the boredom of the subject does seep into you and makes one want to go to sleep or skip the lecture. Met up with zomfgwtfbbq for Gelare's in South Perth and then Bel asked whether if me and Omar wants to go squidding. I was so bored, I agreed :D

Kelvin Wong [ the funny thing is that I have a friend by the name of Kevin Wong. They look alike too XD]

Damn. We didn't get anything. Oh well, next time :(

Omar and Bel

Bel thinking whether she is lucky enough to catch anything.

Omar waiting ever so patiently

Blahhhh..the pics of me were horrible. In its place is this.

Spotted a familiar face in another blogger's blog!

Mm this is completely random. Really random. I "knew" Copykate sometime ago on Kennysia's Cbox. Apparently some ex-classmates now go to the same college as her. Didn't believe my ears until I saw photos on her blog!

Pictures taken from http://copykate.blogspot.com

This was him the last time I saw him in 2005:

Mm..some memories there... :D
