Her Majesty's Theatre

Went to Her Majesty's Theatre to watch Glorious!. Swear this is for my Journalism assignment! This show is mostly about an American soprano by the name of Florence Jenkins who gained fame from her bad singing qualities. She had a powerful voice but lacked tone, pitch and harmony. The funny thing is that it is a true story!

Waleed was gracious enough to help me out by coming along so that he could be one of my source contacts -- just incase the lecturer calls, he's there to back me up! XD
The best thing was that our table was right next to the stage, despite the fact it was at the side. Oh well. There's nothing to complain about now.

Hanny, who did not come along..but what the heck..put his photo anyways..

Back at Hanny's place, I went through some pictures in his laptop and found a hilarious photo of Waleed acting macho. The irony is that he never poses for the camera and if he does, it's usually a comical one - not at the least serious.

Mr Macho-Man in the making..!

Mother's Box Arrived!

Baju Kurung saya pertama.

Yes. Believe it or not. My first baju kurung...haha and I dare call myself a Malaysian. Malunya..

Let's see...Mum sent me more pajamas..her untouched Burberry pouch..er.. a traditional sarong, a bright red cropped fleece top from Grandma..my sneakers, a brown scarf and a pimple wand!

A Romance Scene and Film Noir

Arrived late in uni to pick up the equipment. I solely blame the bus. We just barely fit into Steffi’s car with all the heavy equipment.

We went three times round the block to get to the car park. Righty-O. Finally managed to park – on the eighth floor. Great. Simply GREAT…

Ella

Steffi

Since we were shooting at Nora’s place and we had to wait for her, we decided to have something invigorating to freshen us up. Starts with a C and ends with an E. Yes! COFFEE!!

My frothy cuppucino...

The café we went to was a rather posh one. I did not want to know what they charged there but surprisingly, they charged the same as they would in Gloria Jeans. Me without having cash on me had to get two cupcakes in order that I may use my Eftpos. Hahahha what a loser I am.

Strawberry Dream and Chocolate and Pear Cupcakes

Super Kawaii and tasty!

When Nora arrived we had to go back to the car park to fetch the equipment. What a pain in the ass! The equipment were so fucking heavy! We demand men to help us carry these things! Women were not made to carry such heavy items..

Romance Scene all set up

Me being the stupid one wanted to dress up. Why? I don’t know. Cause I felt like it I guess. So, yet again..it was me acting for the romance scene. Since our group is girls only, Ella had to act as my date. Feels like a lesbian scene gone wrong!

Ella after shooting the Film Noir scene

Had to camwhore

After all of these shit, we packed up and handed the equipment back to Sam. He looked rather calm today and less grumpy – a state in which I rarely see at all! He’s probably recognized me by now –so hoping that he’ll treat us better.

Caught the 72 bus back to the city and called on Waleed to see whether I should go to his place or he come to the city. Hanny dropped him off instead. My oh my! Both brothers sound so alike on the phone. By the end of the conversation, it was only then that I realise it was Waleed speaking and not Hanny! XD

He arrived and we went off to His Majesty’s Theatre to check for the preview! And we got a close table to the stage!!! Woo!! The best things about preview shows is that they are cheaper! $24.00AUD in comparison to $40AUD for adults and $28.50AUD for concession. Can you believe it? It’s even cheaper than a concession ticket!

The theatre show is about:

GLORIOUS!

Florence was a New York legend – a lady who believed she was blessed with a divine voice and that it was her duty and pleasure to delight her friends and later, the public, with her arias. Sadly, her voice, though powerful, rarely stayed on pitch or hit the correct note, making renditions discordantly appalling yet strangely appealing.

It almosts feel like I’m going on a date fun trip to the theatre more than me doing my assignment which is only worth around 5-10%. But what the heck. I enjoy theatrical shows and I think I should be grateful for someone to follow me to such a show!

I ended my day playing Wii again at Hanny’s place. SuperMario Party Pack! GO! GO! GO!

Cinco de Mayo

It was a tiring morning for me as I slept at a late hour. Myself to blame. Definitely.
Today was the start of the lighting assignment and I was supposed to be at university at 9 am. Well..I was ten minutes late. Oops. Sorry Steffi. When Nature calls, you’ve gotta go!

Steffi

The lighting kit was so fucking heavy my poor tired arms could not carry it properly. Steffi carried most of it. I feel so bad now cause I carried the light stuff and she carried all the heavy ones. I’m ashamed of myself. The shoot took shorter than expected finishing around 11:30am than the expected 1:30pm. Deciding it was too late to bring it back to university, we hung out in my room for a further half an hour.

Lights with scrim and blue gels over it.

My bedroom

Headed back to university in Steffi’s Bluebird, not bad considering what year it was made (do not know what the year was but it certainly was old as told by Steffi.)

Having completed something earlier than expected, I remembered having another assignment due in Friday. It was for Journalism and it was a news article based on a live event occurring in Perth but having said that, we must have sources to prove that the event actually occurred. This morning I was so stressed about what event to write about since I haven’t been to any concerts or live shows lately. Thank God the idea popped into my head when I was just on the edge of turning into a stressy cow.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia had a Year 12 Perspective Exhibition on! I remembered it since one guy brought me there a month ago. Thankfully I also changed into something more decent – Oversized shirt, black vest and black jeans <3

Le cafe

Let’s see..what did I order? A cappuccino and a nice walnut friand have created the perfect tea-time, especially when you’re in the right mood and place. These are the times I enjoy being me – single.

Walnut friand

My frothy cuppucino

Just a way for me to show appreciation to life. I’ve never felt so blessed or grateful since today. I just soaked up the warmth of the sun and enjoy life as it is now. I sit there writing all the thoughts and feelings that I’ve felt today into the black notebook that I had and sipped coffee.

I <3>

I am just so happy.

Happy.

Happy for the way I am.

Happy for the life I’m living.

Happy for the things I’ve done.

Happy that I’ve got no regrets.

I am just so happy.

My notebook made from recycled car tyres. Feels funny when you touch it!

Miniature cupcakes anyone?

Care for some mints?

They look like Ecstasy tablets

Another book that caught my interest
