Tattoo ideas -- Nefertiti

Ok. Fine. I admit that I want a tattoo now although when someone once told me, "Eh, so many piercings. What next? Tattooes???", I would deny every aspect of me getting one. Recently though, since my last outing with Bel and I discovered her tattoo, I wanted one. She and I are similar in some ways and an Egyptian tattoo is a YES-YES!! She has a tattoo of Bast, if I'm not mistaken, and it was a very nice outline in dark green ink (tattoos will fade to this colour anyways). I have been thinking of a tattoo ever since I was in Form 2 /Year 9. I've come a long way from wanting to get a Pentagram on my wrist, a Barcode on the nape of my neck, a Heartagram trampstamp to now this - the outline of Nefertiti, Egypt's most beautiful queen.

I could find frontal view photos of Nefertiti's bust but I couldn't get an art that way and in just an outline. It was my mission to draw it out. I started drawing it roughly when I was in Gamesity and they had the fake miniature Nefertiti's bust and allowed me to draw. Here's the development of the outline drawing of Nefertiti.

Bowler Hat Girl

I have a confession. I just bought my second bowler hat just a day after I bought my first one. Technically it's because the first one had a flatter shape [not to mention much cheaper too] and the other one was rounder [the price K.Oed me too and wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the bowler]. The first one costed me $55AUD and the second $135AUD due to its quality and workmanship.

So. What is a Bowler Hat?

The bowler hat was devised in 1849 by the London hatmakers Thomas and William Bowler to fulfil an order placed by the firm of hatters Lock & Co. of St. James, a company established in 1676 which is still in business. Lock & Co. had been commissioned by a customer to design a close-fitting, low-crowned hat to protect his gamekeeper's heads from low-hanging branches while on horseback. The keepers had previously worn top hats which were easily knocked off and damaged. It was also hoped that the new style of hat would protect the keepers if they were attacked by poachers. Lock & Co. then commissioned the Bowler brothers to solve the problem. While most accounts state that the customer was William Coke, a nephew of the 1st Earl of Leicester, recent research has cast some doubt on this, and it is now believed that it was instead Edward Coke, the younger brother of the 2nd Earl of Leicester. When Coke arrived in London on 17 December 1849 to collect his hat he reportedly placed it on the floor and stamped hard on it twice to test its strength; the hat withstood this test and Coke paid 12 shillings for it. In accordance with Locks & Company's usual practice, the hat was called the "Coke" hat after the customer who had ordered it, and this is most likely why the hat became became known as the "Billy Coke" or "Billycock" hat in Norfolk.
Peaking in popularity towards the end of the 19th century the bowler hat offered a middle ground between the formality of the top hat, which was associated with the upper classes, and the casual soft flat caps worn by the working classes. - Taken from Wikipedia

No, I am not thick. I know it's stupid to buy 2 of the same thing but I buy things in pairs. I'm so afraid of losing the things I love and the only way I find peace of mind is to buy a spare.

My very own Bowler [Derby] Hat

One time at a concert for high school, I grabbed John's hat and stuck it onto my head. "Hey! You look good in it", Mum yelled. Ever since the Year 12 concert, I've been wanting one. I never got the courage to pop into the hatter's and try them one as I perceived that it was a "male" thing. Today I finally mustered up the courage [not to mention the boredom of being alone after Zomfgwtfbbq dumped me for the casino] after lunch with Zomfgwtfbbq. I've walked past this hatter's once too many and decided to check it out. They had a variety of hats and tried on most of those in the men's section. Finally found one that fitted my head and looked good! A bowler hat, or also known as the Derby. This costed me $55AUD!! There was another one that was rounder at the top [hence the "Bowl"] but that costed $135AUD..omg..that's too much for a hat. Although looking back now it does seem of a much higher quality. Gah. Stop thinking about it.

Now to complete the look. Black shirt and loads of black eyeliner, stockings and boots.
